The National Science Centre has announced the sixth ranking list of projects that have received funding under the NSC MINIATURA 9 competition. Among the winners is a researcher from the University of Gdańsk - dr Magdalena Muszel from the Institute of Sociology of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Gdańsk.
The pilot project led by dr Magdalena Muszel, which received funding under the MINIATURA 9 competition, is entitled ‘Women in the creation of new models of local democracy. A pilot study of the impact of Women's Councils on local democracy in Poland’. The project analyses how grassroots advisory bodies, such as Women's Councils in Poland, promote gender equality, civic participation and democratic innovation in small and medium-sized towns. Its aim is to examine how Women's Councils contribute to strengthening local democracy in Poland. The amount of funding is PLN 9,669.
Applications for the MINIATURA competition may be submitted for a single scientific activity in the form of preliminary research, a query or a scientific trip, and from this year also for support from a mentor in preparing the assumptions of a research project that the MINIATURA winner plans to submit to other NSC grant competitions.
The MINIATURA 9 competition was open from February to July this year. The results are published within five months of the application being submitted.
